Cipro torna a far ballare l’Eurovision con la giovanissima Silia Kapsis e la uptempo “Liar“. Ecco il testo della canzone
Discendenze cipriote e greche per Silia Kapsis, giovanissima cantante che vola in Svezia, all’Eurovision Song Contest 2024, in rappresentanza di Cipro con la ballabile “Liar”. L’artista, cresciuta a Sidney in Australia, è stata la frontwoman dell’Australian Youth Performing Arts Company (AYPAC) e ha conquistato nel corso del tempo spazi sempre maggiori nel mondo della musica, sia come cantante che come performer.
Nel 2022 Silia Kapsis ha pubblicato il singolo d’esordio “Who am I?”, che ha scritto e composto quando aveva appena dodici anni. In seguito ha pubblicato poi altre due tracce inedite, “No boys allowed” e “Disco dancer”, rispettivamente a marzo e maggio dello scorso anno. Ha avuto modo di collaborare con rinomati coreografi e ballerini, trovando posto nella ImmaBeast Dance Company, a Los Angeles.
“Liar” è stata scritta e composta da Dīmītrīs Kontopoulos ed Elke Tiel. In alcune dichiarazioni rilasciate alla stampa prima della pubblicazione del brano, Silia Kapsis ha lasciato intendere che sarebbe stata una canzone dance pop. In seguito, ha anche affermato che il suo pezzo si rivolgeva alle persone che conducono vite “finte”, criticandole per il fatto di promuovere il “body shaming e lo slut-shaming“.
