Dermot Kennedy e l’ottimismo protagonista del nuovo singolo “Better days”

Sbarca nelle radio italiane da venerdì il nuovo singolo dell’irlandese Dermot Kennedy, “Better days”

Dopo la pubblicazione dell’album “Without fear” nel 2019 e il successo dei singoli “Giants” e “Power over me”, torna Dermot Kennedy con il brano “Better days”, già disponibile sulle piattaforme digitali. Come dice il titolo stesso, il singolo parla di speranza. Dermot dà voce ai pensieri delle persone di tutto il mondo che attendono fiduciosi giorni migliori. Il brano è prodotto da Dan Nigro ed è caratterizzato da un coro gaelico che ripete come un mantra le parole courage and calm.

Parlando del brano, Dermot ha spiegato: «Questa è una canzone sulla pazienza. Invita ad essere sempre ottimisti, nonostante i momenti difficili passati. Come artista sento di dover dare il mio contributo portando un po’ di conforto e spensieratezza, anche se solo per la durata di una canzone. Better days will come».

Ad oggi con quasi due miliardi e mezzo di stream a livello globale e oltre quindici milioni di ascoltatori mensili solo su Spotify, Dermot è diventato un’indiscutibile star da quando ha pubblicato il suo album di debutto “Without fear” nel 2019. Oltre ad essere stato nominato per il Best International Male BRIT Award nel 2020, è diventato l’artista irlandese più venduto della sua generazione, con oltre 1,7 milioni di copie in tutto il mondo.

Il singolo “Giants” ha raggiunto il primo posto nella Irish Singles Chart e ha ottenuto l’oro nel Regno Unito. Dermot Kennedy ha inoltre collaborato con il trio di produzione italiana multi-platino Meduza al singolo “Paradise“. La canzone è stata più di 20 settimane sia nella Irish che nella UK Official Singles Chart, raggiungendo il #1 in Irlanda e il #5 nel Regno Unito.

Negli ultimi 18 mesi, Dermot Kennedy si è esibito dal vivo con Meduza al The Ellen Show, ha fatto un fantastico spettacolo dal vivo al Natural History History Museum di Londra e ha registrato una fantastica performance di apertura per la serie The Virtual Road degli U2. È stato anche premiato come Man of the Match all’evento annuale Soccer Aid dell’Unicef.
